Palais des Papes at Sunset
Avignon, Provence, France. Golden light of an autumn sunset bathes the Palias des Papes in firey color.

Hotel des Invalides, night shot
The Hotel des Invalides, one of Paris' great architectural landmarks which houses the Tomb of Napoleon, stands watch over the rushing traffic of a Parisian evening.

Gateway to Pernes Les Fontaines, sunrise
Pernes Les Fontaines is one of the pearls of Provence, a magical historic village set inside medieval fortifications. In the emerging dawn light the town gives off a warm, serene aura.

Tree-lined Canal with filtered morning light, Nimes
Nimes is best known for its immaculately preserved Roman Forum, a smaller version of Rome's. But the city is full of visual treasures like this canal that channels water away from the Roman Jardins de la Fontaine.

City street view of the Eiffel Tower
There are a few vantage points in Paris where you can turn a corner and see the Eiffel Tower looming high above a perfectly Parisian streetside cafe scene. You have to look hard, but it is fun exploring for them.

The Louvre at sunset through Pei's Pyramid
A dramatic sunset, splashing golden light everywhere, is the perfect visual accent for this clash of architectural styles, geometries, and historical references.

Man, dog, bicycle, Paris
The Marais is the former suburbia of the nobility, transformed into a down-to-earth residential neighborhood after the king and his court relocated their pleasure palaces to Versailles and other locales at the end of the 18th century. Home to unpretentious boutiques and some of Paris' oldest architectural remains, it seems like it's possible to see just about anything here.

Voyeur, Paris
As is the case in most cosmopolitan, bustling cities, people-watching, and sometimes even voyeurism, is a part of life in Paris. In this variation on the theme, a larger-than-life billboard character on a kiosk examines the inside of a high-up apartment.

Bridge of Contented Sighs, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue
Built on a system of canals, and often referred to as the Venice of Provence, L'Isle-sur-la Sorgue is a town of medieval origin that was once one of the great merchant centers of the region. Today much of the industry has disappeared, but the canals still provide charm and utility.

Fountain, Orange
Orange is best known for its unique Roman amphitheatre built into the mountainside in the center of the city, but it has numerous visual treasures hidden within the labyrinth of streets, alleys and passageways in the centre ville.

Mountain Parachute
Parachutist comes in for landing in international competition with mountain in background. Chamonix. France.

Shadows
Two people walk in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower.

Les Contreforts
Les Contreforts. Buttress weights of a church taken from the La Samaratin shopping center 7th floor window. Paris, France.

Reflection of San Sulpice, Paris
Winter time in Paris produces some phenomenal image opportunities and this shot sums it all up. Just a puddle on the ground, but in front of the Fountain at San Sulpice - creating a surrealistic photograph without the slightest bit of manipulation.

Along the Siene
Shot near the Louvre with the Cathedral of Notre Dame far in the background up the Siene. Winter in Paris, like no other city in the world.

In My Vsion
From a graveyard on the outskirts of Paris. A Telephoto shot meant to compress the progression of the perfectly lined up trees planted along a street. In all the pictures of France that I have seen, this type of image stuck in my head the most. It was a misty winter afternoon in Paris.

The Louvre Metro
The metro, what would Paris be without it. After visiting the city, all the wonderful metro signs stick in the memory long after. This one is right outside the Louvre near Palais Royale. Highly detailed shot in the Paris winter time.

Eiffel Tower as seen from the Arc De Triumph
Shot on top of the Arc de Triumph at sunset in Paris. Lightly colored sky sets off the Parisian avenues and the landmark Eiffel Tower. The image draws you in just as if you were standing on the top of the city.

Notre Dame, Paris
From the front of Notre Dame, including the statue of Charlemange on the right. Taken in January 2002.

Notre Dame, Paris
Image taken from across the Siene during sunset of the central tower of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris.

Eiffel Tower through the Trees, Paris
Winter time in Paris gives a distinctive view of it's architecture contrasting with the natural forms of the trees without their leaves.

Notre Dame Rose Window Detail
Detail at sunset from across the Siene of the Rose window of Notre Dame, Paris. Highly detailed, individual figures can been made out withing the stained glass.
