Jagged Edge
Taken along the breath taking 17 mile drive on the Monterey Peninsula in California. I walked along this bluff and stopped to sit awhile to watch the waves as they worked their way over the rocks and into pool below me.
Eyes On You
This Siamese cat caught my attention while I was photographing the flowers in this rock garden. I was struck by his curiosity and his intense blue eyes as well as the way that the leaves framed his face.
Olan's wild Rose garden
The twisted roots of trees are used along with these lovely wild roses to form a natural border at the home of the artist Frederick Church.
Crater Lake
Crater lake, as the name implies is a lake which was formed when a vocano errupted hundreds of years ago. This lovely and pristine lake is located in Southern Oregon. The photo was taken in July and just a short time after I shot it, it began to snow.
Mendenhall Glacier
Mendenhall Glacier , located in beutiful Juneau, Alaska was truly one of the highlights of a recent trip to Alaska. I was so awed by its magnificance and natural beauty that I spent several hours here and felt hard pressed to leave it.
Day's End
A trip to California's Monterey Peninsula allowed me to capture this peaceful boat basin at day's end.
In My Garden
This lovely garden is located behind the portico of Shelbourn farms in Shelbourn, Vermont. One could sit here for hours reflecting on the beauty around us. The Adirondack chairs seem to just invite you to come and sit awhile.
Play Time
The coastline of California offers a natural haven for harbor seals and sea lions. While I my family and I were in Monterey, we were fortunate to come upon these harbor seals at play.
Time Out
While out on a late evening harbor cruise, I spotted this big fellow taking a well earned nap. A fishing boat in the background is heading in for some time out also.
covered bridge
Just off rt. 313, in the hamlet of W.Arlington Vt. This lovely old covered bridge crosses the famous Battenkill river . For a few years this was home to Norman Rockwell. For this Photo , Photographer Donald Capen, waited patiently for the rain to subside before getting just the right light to photograph this peaceful scene.
Rocky Mountain Elk
While traveling along the highway through British Columbia's Kootenay's Natl.forest, on our way to Banff, I spotted a heard of Elk feeding peacefully. They were seemingly unconcerned as I set up my tripod and camera. In the background to the left of the photograph, the Canadian Rocky Mountains are visible.
Almost There
This fall my sister and I traveled from Northern Idaho to Banff in the Canadian province of Alberta. It was late in the afternoon and Banff was only a couple miles ahead. although we had been on the road for twelve hours, I could not pass up this lovely landscape.
Peaceful Valley
During a trip through British Columbia, We stopped at Fort Steel. Just inside the gate I had a nice view of the snow capped Canadian Rockies . In the valley below I found it very restful to watch the cattle grazing near this quiet stream.
Pratt Falls
While driving through the Catskill mountains this fall, my husband and I came upon this lovely waterfall. The one large Maple standing at the head of the falls was in full color. A Spaniel was playing off to the left of the photograph.
looking down into Banff
Looking down into Banff from this overlook provided me with a calm appreciation for this wilderness area. Aspen trees such as the one in the foreground of the photo, added a nice contrast to other tall fir trees. Granite Mountains surround all of Banff as if to protect it from harm.
Canadian Rockies
On the return trip from Banff this fall, I was totally awed once more, by this majestic snow capped mountain range. The quiet stream appeared to be flowing into Banff . Oh if only I could go back with you I thought. There were so many lovely places I had not photographed yet.
Where Eagles Flew
On a drive back from Banff this fall we spotted an Eagle dipping in and out of this majestic Canadian mountain range.By the time we were able to stop the car, the eagle was no longer in sight. However, the formation of the mountain and the lovely stream below it, were all that was needed to keep me focused for some time.
Dusk
On my way home from work one evening, this lovely old barn was illluminated in just the right light to reveal the snow and the branches of the baren trees. located in w. Ghent, N.Y.
Tommahanock Reservoir at sunset
On the way back from Vermont there is lovely reservoir. It has long been a favorite place to stop and just relax. located on rt. 7 north of Troy, N.Y. . This sunset over the Tommahanock just took my breath away.
Catskill Falls
While out to capture some of the fall folliage, I came upon these lovely falls in the Catskill mountains of New York. They are located just outside Prattville and provide a popular place to swim and picnic in the summer.
Barn at Dusk scene two
This barn is located in West Ghent, N.Y. . Photographed at just the right moment to capture the snow and illuminate the branches of the trees. This image is a popular choice of the art lovers.
Sunset Over Mobile Bay
My son ,Grandson and myself were boating in the Mobile Bay just before the sunset. We waited patiently for the sunset to take place. It was well worth the wait. One can see just just the very top of the city of Mobile, Alabama along the horizon.
Hudson R River folliage
Travelling along 9 J in During the fall folliage I discovered that the Catskill mountains, the Hudson River and the farm lands came together to form this Hudson Valley scene.
Daphne boat basin at Sunset
While cruising in and out of the Dahne boat basin in the Mobile bay area, we came upon these old piers, the work of a recent hurricane. I was struck by the dramatic lighting of the skyline and its illumination of the piers.
